DBT is an evidenced-based treatment for a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and eating disorders. This type of therapy can also help reduce suicidality and self-harming behaviors.
DBT teaches us how to develop mindfulness skills so we can improve our ability to label our thoughts and our emotions and respond effectively. We learn how to accept our current reality as it is, while seeking to build a life that is worth living.
These are some of the assumptions of DBT that guide our journey:
I believe you are doing the best you can, and that you're seeking therapy because you're feeling ready and willing to do the work you need to do to live more fully. I would be honored to walk with you and help you build the skills you need.
